Brane Širca (1971) is an interdisciplinary artist, graduated from the High School of Drawing and Painting - Arthouse, in Ljubljana. In his creative process and works, he uses various approaches and materials, exploring different techniques from sculpture, printmaking to painting. He is interested in various aspects of human life, beliefs, and values. He is particularly sensitive to the current position of capitalist society and its consequences for human life. Through his artistic works, which are mostly a response to current events and a critique of certain phenomena in modern society, he addresses a diverse audience. Širca belongs to the visual artists, whose contemporary social events stimulate and irritate them to such an extent that they respond in a symbolic way, which includes satire and provocative responsiveness.
