LIGHT COLOUR RHYTHM, permanent site-specific light installation, projection of natural light through stained glass into camera obscura, 50 X 50 X 50 cm, 5 mm vertical line aperture, Skrbina, the summer residence of Lojze Spacal (1907-2000), Carst, Slovenia, 2020.
The stained glass was created by Lojze Spacal using Murano glass crystals when the house was built. The movement of the trees outside the house, caused by the Burja, a typical wind in this karst region, changes the color, pattern, and rhythm within the installation. Sometimes the change is fast, and other times it's almost imperceptible. The video of the installation was filmed on a windy day. The trees outside swayed in the wind, creating a rhythmic interplay of light inside the projection.
