PENDULUM 2015

This kinetic sculpture links back to previous works from "Time & Eye" series reflecting on time, perception, stability, the known, the unknown, movement, and materia as information-pulse.

The drawing shows the rotation of the eight-shape (8) of the hourglass from which I obtained the ‘rosette’ engraved in the clock glass, located on the upper part of the sculpture. This resembles a cornea. I engraved the convex glass with small dots thinking of pulse-heartbeats, sound, light and data. The triangle represents stability. The pendulum oscillates between black and white, between the known and the unknown, within the greyscale of the triangle. The sculpture beats but does not measure time.
