“The Eye on the Moon” is a video work inspired by the life and activities of the Museo dell’Altro e dell’Altrove di Metropoliz_città meticcia (MAAM) in Rome’s outskirt, filmed during her AIR experience at the Centre for Experimental Photography Adams (Rome, IT). The subjects are the people and the physical space of MAAM with its beauty and roughness. The video investigates the relationship between MAAM ‘residents’ and ‘visitors’.

MAAM is located in an abandoned factory of cured meat that, since 2009, has been occupied by migrants from different nationalities that gradually built up the multi-ethnic community that nowadays inhabit its spaces. In this melting-pot context, MAAM is both a public and private space (a museum and a home). These experiences informed Jazbec’s research on MAAM during which the artist surveyed possible interventions within the site and its artistic activity. In “Eye on the Moon” Jazbec alternated vertical and horizontal shapes, again providing a fresh perspective on the everyday.
